Self-adhesive label printing is a special kind of printing. In general, its printing and post-press processing are completed on the label machine, that is, multiple processing processes are completed on several stations of a machine.
The process of self adhesive label printing generally includes the following steps:
1. Design and plate making: according to customer requirements, design the content and style of self-adhesive labels, and produce electronic drawings. The electronic version is then converted into a printed version using a computer-controlled platemaker.
2. Materials: Prepare materials required for the printing of self-adhesive labels, including self-adhesive paper, ink, and surface coating.
3. Printing: Install the printed plate on the printing press and adjust the pressure and speed of the printing press. Then the self-adhesive paper is fed into the printing press, and the ink is printed to the surface of the adhesive paper through the rolling and pressure of the printing roller.
4. Drying: After the printing is completed, send the printed adhesive paper into the drying room or use a hot air dryer to dry the ink quickly to prevent the ink from fainting and collapsing.
5. Add coating and sticky paper: After drying, the label surface can be coated with a protective coating to enhance the waterproof, wear-resistant and chemical resistance. Then, apply a layer of adhesive backing paper to the back for attaching the label to the item.
6. Slitting and die-cutting: slitting the label that has been made, that is, cutting the whole roll into the size of a single label. If the shape of the label is irregular, it can also be die-cut, using a die-cutting machine to cut the label along the knife die of a specific shape.
7.Inspection and packaging: Check the quality of the cut label to check whether there are printing errors, ink falling off and other problems.
